This is your club. Come and be involved!!
It was nice to have Brandon back after being gone for work.
Calvin stated that there is a lawsuit to rescind the Endangered Species Act. It was supposed to be reviewed every 5 years but has not been reviewed.
Judy thanked every one who helped at the Gem and Mineral Show in Grand junction over the Mother's Day weekend. We had help with setting up on Friday and working the panning tub and the booth.
There was discussion as to why the Camp Wapiyapi Fundraiser that was to be held in Delta on May 5 was postponed. There were several issues. One being health issues of a couple members and the other being the lack of volunteers and donations of food.
Judy asked if we would consider doing a fundraiser in conjunction with St. Mary's Cancer Center for a fund to help families with expenses other than what insurance covers. There was discussion as to whether to do both Camp Wapiyapi and St. Mary's, either, or none. It was decided to table the decision til next month pending more information on the St. Mary's fund.
Ilene asked if we could change the club picnic from Saturday to Sunday since several members work on Saturday. It was approved. The picnic will be held Sunday, July 15 at Cleland Park in Delta.
Ilene won the door prize nugget. Congratulations.
